Larz Anderson House, Washington D.C.

I went on an outing recently around Washington D.C. with my friend. She has a list of places that sound cool to visit and I like it because I don't have to make much of the decisions to choose where to go. The house is owned by the Society of Cincinnati and is located by Dupont Circle.  The house was the previous home of a diplomat of revolutionary times, Larz Anderson. The gist of what I got was that this diplomat brought home pretty much anything that caught his eye during his travels, and as a diplomat he traveled a lot, and displayed them in his home to show off during fun parties.

Anyway, the house is definitely a must see. They often hold events and are even available for weddings. Just take the red line to the Dupont stop. Here is the address to come check them out:

Aricole Hair Mask & Sea Salt Spray

I now bring you products from a small business called Aricole. They sell products that are all natural, organic, gluten free, and chemical free. They are most known for their hair mask but they also sell sea salt sprays and four types of scrubs. I discovered them because I follow one of the owners, Ariella Ann, on instagram and was totally in awe at the hair extensions she made. Her ombre skills are awesome. Also, she would make these all natural products to keep her own hair, damaged from heat and frequent coloring, soft and smooth. I've seen good reviews also of the product and since Ariella Ann seems to be an expert on hair, I decided to give it a try.

Hair Mask 4oz. $25.99
This hair mask is made up of many different types of oil. It is essentially a hair oil in texture. It is very thick. When applied, your hair will become very oily. But that's the point since it is trying to moisturize the hair. The smell is really pleasant. Like many other reviewers, I decided to keep it on my hair overnight. It is sort of inconvenient because my hair feels really heavy and oily. If you have naturally oily hair like mine, definitely shampoo well because it is a bit hard to get off the hair. However, once out, my hair does feel very soft and it smells great. Although the bottle is small, a little does go a long way. I don't have thick hair but length wise, I do have a lot of it. Even when I'm applying the product liberally, I still haven't gone through too much of the bottle.

Sea Salt Spray 8oz. $14.99
The packaging of this is so cute. It came with a bow around it and the bottle itself is actually coated in specks of glitter. It does need to be shaken before use. What I love about it is the smell. Oh my gosh it smells like the ocean. It just takes me back to times on the beach. It really smells like the beach. Also, it isn't as drying as other salt sprays I have used. My hair stays quite soft even though I applied it very generously. It makes me look and smell like I came from the beach.

Face Masks: Lush "Sacred Truth" & Korean Sheet Masks

Korean Sheet Masks
A friend of mine came back from Korea with some face masks. As you know, I am huge on skin care and Korean products are simply top of the line, nowadays. How could I pass up the opportunity when my friend offered to get some for me? She got me twenty in total. A pack of ten of the honey mask and a pack of five of the bamboo mask and the green tea mask. I don't know where she bought them from though but it was $1 per sheet so these 20 masks cost $20, much cheaper than the alternative at Sephora.

Honey
This honey mask is very syrupy and gooey, not to mention the smell is very sweet. I was almost afraid it would attract ants. The sheet mask is definitely soaked in this honey and since it is so thick, it does take a while for the mask to dry. To make the most out of these masks, I leave it on as long as I can. My face ends up feeling so moisturized. Once I use the initial face mask, there is actually still a lot left of the serum in the bag. I end up saving the bag and keep constantly using the mask to get more of the serum to spread on my face. I'm not going to Korea anytime soon so I want to make the most of these products. This honey mask definitely left my skin soft and smooth. Though caution to oily faces, these masks are meant to be moisturizing. This will make your face oily.

Bamboo
This mask only has a slight fragrance, barely noticeable actually. It is like the green tea mask where the serum is more like water rather than the syrupy thickness of the honey mask. The shape of the mask itself doesn't fit me as well as the other two. I felt like the eye holes were too small and the lip hole was too big. Anyway, I did think this one would dry out faster than the other two but my face still feels moisturized when it is removed. The product absorbs into the skin quite well and my face doesn't feel overly oily afterwards.

Green Tea
This mask does not have a strong smell like the honey mask and the texture is more like of water. The mask applies nicely and dries quickly since it is more of a liquid than a syrup. There is also not much left in the packet so it really is a single use thing. However, it does still leave my face very soft. I feel like it absorbs easier because it is more like a liquid and it doesn't leave my face feeling too oily.

Lush "Sacred Truth"
This has actually turned out to be my favorite face mask from Lush. It has the texture that I like that makes it easy to spread on the face as well as a pleasant and not too strong smell. It is definitely moisturizing. It does feel like it leaves a film of some sort, like a layer on the skin after it is washed off. Some people don't like that sensation but I feel like it helps protect and moisturize the skin. Of all the face masks I've tried from lush, this is my new favorite. I definitely recommend it.

Fake Leather Jackets

I emphasize fake because I can't afford real leather jackets. These two jackets I bought at Target. The top one is brown although for some reason it doesn't look all that brown in pictures. It was on sale for $27.98. The bottom one is a short gray jacket that only cost $19.98. Both are very good quality and fit me perfectly! Sometimes I think Target just reads my mind. I was at Tyson's all day that day looking for a nice affordable leather looking jacket and couldn't find one and then I go to my local Target and suddenly I find two.
