Pokemon Yellow Team

I played pokemon blue when I was younger and I never did finish it. I found it so hard and I don't think I even ever beat the elite 4. I found gold to be much easier and I finished that in it's entirety. However with each game, I feel like that failure was a stain on my personal and nonexistent pokemon reputation. Not like anyone cares but me. Anyway, I was so excited when nintendo released the old gameboy games to be played on the 3ds. I bought both blue and yellow, but I started out with yellow since that was one I never played before and I was curious of the difference.

The grind is just as grueling and painful as I remembered it to be. Not many good pokemon to choose from, the move sets are so limited, and the inventory even more painfully limited. I was cautious this time around, really trained hard before each gym battle. I planned my team much more carefully and really did my best to have a varied move set. And in the end I was able to eat the elite 4 with relative ease. So here are the fruits of my labor.

Well technically, yellow is easier because most of your team is freebies! I mean, pikachu isn't the best choice but for the sake of being my starter I kept him. Then of course I got the three starters, which are arguably the best of their types and one of the best in general to use in the whole game. So technically this would be easier than blue anyway. But I succeeded! I don't have the energy to play blue yet but maybe eventually?

Nintendo Switch

With every pokemon game, of course I have to get the new console just to play it. At this point I'm nintendo's financial slave. At the time, there weren't much colors to choose from. The normal one was black, which I did get since the others at the time weren't to my liking. There was the lets go eevee/pikachu one, which are brown and yellow, my least favorite colors. Most of the other ones were just the black base with a bit of design on it, no special looking joycons. Even the ones with colored special joycons just weren't speaking to me.

Until the animal crossing edition out! That pastel baby blue with the mint, those are the colors of my wardrobe right now! Also, the back of the joycons are white and come with the white attachments with matching pastel wrist rope thingies. I was disappointed that the actual base screen part of the switch was still black and not white, but at least the dock is a pretty white with a cute design.

Of course I had to keep the vibe with my case and accessories. The case I got is a pretty pastel blue from etsy that looks just like a normal purse. It's soft inside and a nice leather on the outside that is easy to clean. It does hold a lot of games, which was also was something that I considered after all since I wanted something that held a lot of games.

I did still want an actual case on the switch since I'm clumsy and could drop or hit it against something. I got this pastel pink case from amazon. I love the color because it's so light that it almost looked white in some of the pictures but it is clearly pink in person. It's also very bendy so it's easy to take off. Downside is it does make the switch overheat more easily. I just play in a nice cool space.

I also got these cute cap coverers for the joy stick. It's supposed to be a cherry blossom! It was also from amazon and came in a pack of four. I gave the other two to my friend who has the cute coral colored switch lite that would match well with it. The switch lite had such nice colors and the sword/shield edition looks great but the screen is too small for me and I need to be able to play on a tv because I have terrible eyesight. Anyway, I'm very happy with the switch I have now but if they release some sort of beautiful gold Legend of Zelda edition, it's all over for my bank account.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond Team

Yet another pokemon game of course! Someone I know has been complaining of missing the sprites so I guess this is the answer to his wish. I do think the game is a huge improvement from the old one, which was a bit forgettable to me. The whole underground thing was something I never got to enjoy since I played the game so much later than release and also no friends to play with. But now I have someone to play with so I had so much more fun this time around.

As usual, I agonized over the name to give this character. I have a list from before but I decided to go with Lalisa because it's such a pretty name and also I want her to be cool like Lisa from blackpink. Anyway, not much character customization in this one. I can't even change the hair or eyes. The outfits also didn't have a lot to choose from. I don't normally like orange but this outfit was the coolest of them all. I wish it had the same colors the guy had, which was white and green. That would have been more my style but oh well. It's cool because the outfit glows in the nighttime too.

Now on to my team. I usually have all three starters on my team but I'm not all that fond of infernape. I'm a bit sick of the fire/fighting combo and I wanted to use lucario for once on my team. Having two fighting types seems too much. So it's a little bit different from my old team but mostly the same. I couldn't say no to garchomp.

Anyway, the whole underground thing makes training so much easier to train so I might have been a bit overleveled. I'd rather be over than underprepared I guess. My only criticism is where is my resort house!?! I deserve my lakeside mansion! I mean it bankrupted in the old game but it's so easy to make money in this game. Let me be bankrupt. I can take it!
