My mom gave me some random samples from a magazine of the Garnier BB cream. They came in two shades so I decided to go ahead and try them out. I tried the Medium/Deep on my friend with darker skin and the Light/Medium on myself.
So this product felt a lot like foundation to me. It felt very thick. For my friend, who has a lot of face redness, it did a good job of covering that up and really making her skin look even. For me, it was a little too thick for my taste. I don't usually wear foundation. I often go with a naked face or with some tinted moisturizer. The color blended with my skin very nicely though.

MOTD: Natural colors
It's been so long since I put on any make up. School has made me lazy and I don't really put on makeup anymore so putting on makeup after a long time is a really big deal to me. Haha I felt so pretty with makeup on. It actually looked good this time, I think. I'm not very good at makeup so this was a big deal to me that this try turned out so nicely. So here are the products I used.
Started with some primer and some concealer for under my eyes. I'm cheap so I use the ELF brand a lot. I think both these items were $3, not sure though. I know they were cheap and they work well enough. Ideally, I'd like to get myself the Urban Decay primer but it's such a small bottle and it's so expensive. I'm a broke college student. Haha I don't have that type of money.
Then I use the color above for my inner eye. It's from some cheap ELF palette that was about $3. Then I used two colors from my Benefit Cabana Glama set, using the colors Bronze Buzz and Cocoa Pizzazz. I just love brown natural colors.
I use the ULTA pencil liner for my waterline. Then I use the Almay liquid liner for my eyelid and to make a cat eye. This was my first time using the Almay because I couldn't find my other liquid liner. It is nice but it comes off more easily, I think. I had a little tear from dry eyes and when I went to just pat dry my eye, the eyeliner came off with it.
For lips, I start with the lip stain to just put in color that will last. I use a Revlon Just Bitten lip stain. Then, instead of using the lipbalm on the other end, I use the ELF tinted lip balm instead to add more color.
End result. It's pretty simple. I don't really use foundation because my oily skin will give me pimples. I mostly focus on the eyes because I feel like that's what people really notice and look at anyway. I don't put on mascara because I'm always doing it wrong and it clumps and I end up looking kind of freaky. I obviously am not that great at makeup. I should get someone to teach me.
I felt so pretty with all this makeup, I just had to camwhore! Yes, makeup makes me feel pretty. Don't judge me.

MM makeup kit
For Christmas, a relative gave me this makeup kit but I didn't recognize the logo. I had honestly never seen the brand before. It looked cute though. So here are the parts of the kit:
There are no names for the colors here. Anyway, let's start with the left. I like the white, it makes a great highlighter. The black is wonderfully dark and goes on very well. The gray....it's a very light gray and for me, doesn't serve as a nice in between color. Now the brown. I love the lightest brown. It almost matches my skin color. The two darker browns...I can barely tell them apart when I put them on my lid. They almost were the exact same color.
The lip gloss, though pink, is very sheer. It might as well be clear. The mascara is nice but it tends to clump on the brush itself. Had to wipe it off a few times. The liquid liner is weird in that the brush is bent at the end. That was new and I had a hard time using it. The pencil liner sucks and won't show up when I put it on my waterline.
The nail polish is ok. It's a dark pink. I don't really use such a shade of pink that much. It goes well with some glitter though, which can be seen in my nail polish collection.
My aunt told me to tell her how the set was because she had never used it before either. I think if I could get used to the liquid liner brush, I would like it. The mascara is nice and some of the colors are nice. Overall as a set, it's ok. I do wonder where she bought this from though...

Benefit Cabana Glama
So I got this makeup palette for Christmas. To be honest, I did not know the brand benefit. I'm sure a lot of makeup gurus are shocked and laughing at me for saying such a thing. I really am not very knowledgeable about makeup at all. I barely use makeup at all.
I thought this makeup kit is super cute. It comes with a little lip gloss, three eye shadows with an eye shadow applicator, a brown powder with a small brush, and a little container of foundation. And it comes with a mirror. The box is super adorable.
So my family likes to tell me that I'm dark so they got me this makeup kit in "medium". Well the problem is I'm not medium and the foundation and powder are too dark for my skin. I guess I could use them for contouring. The foundation is not that thick and heavy, but the difference in color with my skin is pretty obvious. The lip gloss is pretty sheer with a hint of pink, even though it looks super pink in the bottle.
Well, my first Benefit product and I absolutely love it :)
