Black History Month Instameet #MakeYourMap

When I heard to of my friends were heading to D.C. to take some pictures, I last minute decided to join. It was one of the few weekends we all had free so it was hard to pass up. Veteran blogger Ella has been to an instameet before whereas it was the first time for me and Rika. We met up at Lincoln Theater and the walking instameet adventure started from there. Disclaimer once again, these photos are all by Rika and you can check more of the photos she took at her blog.

I pretty much claimed any green house I saw as my own

We walked so much that day. We started at Lincoln Theater and ended up all the way by the Convention Center. The walking tour featured many different historical sites for Black history as well as a lot of street art by Black artists. It was a part of the city that I had never really gone to explore and this was a great way to be introduced to a new perspective of D.C. My feet were killing me but in the end, it was all worth it. Check out the blogs of Ella and Rika since they posted about it too! It was also fun meeting new people and I definitely won't hesitate to go to another instameet whenever I can.
