Bumpit

Lately, I've been inspired by all this big hair by celebrities, more specifically Lana Del Rey. I mean, her hair always fabulous and full of volume. I was looking for ways to give me that bump up in volume for my hair and I thought about those bump its that I used to see on infomercials in the middle of the night. I know they sell some in Claire's but I always thought it was overpriced there, so I decided to go look at ebay.

It's a cute little pink box. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It came very quickly, in like a week and a half, because I paid for standard shipping, which also gave me a tracking number. However, there is free economy shipping available also. When the box came, it was in another package and it was a little worn, perhaps from the ride? But the product itself was unharmed, so that's good.

The box came with five pieces. Two small pieces, two medium pieces, and one large piece. They have little things that stick out that help to stick to the hair, so that they don't move and fall out of your head while you have them on (but that would be a funny sight).

The package comes with this piece of paper with instructions on how to use it. One of the pages also includes the variety of ways that you can use it for, along with instructions for those styles.

Hopefully one step closer to big hair~

Black and Gray Beanie

I've been seeing these loose or slouch beanies around lately. I do miss the beret I lost, which was vary loose and slouchy unlike my other berets. I do like the style. So I decided to find a cheaper alternative on ebay. After all, beanies shouldn't cost that much right?

This black beanie is available in other colors as well. It's super loose and slouchy. I might even get another one in a different color. It's very thin though so it's not really great for keeping warm or anything like that.

This gray beanie, on the other hand, is very thick and definitely warm. However, there is nothing loose about it at all. It's actually pretty tight around the head and not what I'm looking for at all. I'm probably just going to give it to my friend who loves beanies. You can make it look slouchy by pulling down the back a bit and it does look nice, but not quite what I want.

MOTD: Natural colors

It's been so long since I put on any make up. School has made me lazy and I don't really put on makeup anymore so putting on makeup after a long time is a really big deal to me. Haha I felt so pretty with makeup on. It actually looked good this time, I think. I'm not very good at makeup so this was a big deal to me that this try turned out so nicely. So here are the products I used.

Started with some primer and some concealer for under my eyes. I'm cheap so I use the ELF brand a lot. I think both these items were $3, not sure though. I know they were cheap and they work well enough. Ideally, I'd like to get myself the Urban Decay primer but it's such a small bottle and it's so expensive. I'm a broke college student. Haha I don't have that type of money.

Then I use the color above for my inner eye. It's from some cheap ELF palette that was about $3. Then I used two colors from my Benefit Cabana Glama set, using the colors Bronze Buzz and Cocoa Pizzazz. I just love brown natural colors.

I use the ULTA pencil liner for my waterline. Then I use the Almay liquid liner for my eyelid and to make a cat eye. This was my first time using the Almay because I couldn't find my other liquid liner. It is nice but it comes off more easily, I think. I had a little tear from dry eyes and when I went to just pat dry my eye, the eyeliner came off with it.

For lips, I start with the lip stain to just put in color that will last. I use a Revlon Just Bitten lip stain. Then, instead of using the lipbalm on the other end, I use the ELF tinted lip balm instead to add more color.

End result. It's pretty simple. I don't really use foundation because my oily skin will give me pimples. I mostly focus on the eyes because I feel like that's what people really notice and look at anyway. I don't put on mascara because I'm always doing it wrong and it clumps and I end up looking kind of freaky. I obviously am not that great at makeup. I should get someone to teach me.

I felt so pretty with all this makeup, I just had to camwhore! Yes, makeup makes me feel pretty. Don't judge me.

Spring Break

11:50 AM Official start of spring break after a grueling 3 hour class in the morning. bleh *dead* No one even came to class and about halfway through, half the people had already left class. No one was paying attention at all.

That night, I head on home to my parent's house.

Getting so fat from all these sweets.

Still have not done anything productive. Just more eating.

Gosh I'm so boring. All I do is play video games and watch TV.

Watched a new episode of Swamp People. Elementary was a disappointment by showing a repeat episode.

Friday

Day to leave home. My brother was so sad. Spent the day playing minecraft then went out to costco and ate dinner at Genghis Grill. The place was so rowdy with large bonfires in the kitchen and shouting and lots of gong banging. So crazy.

Saturday

Put on some makeup and circle lenses in the morning. I hadn't worn circle lenses in so long since I don't wear them when I'm at home with my parents. My eyes felt so huge. Wearing my Princess Mimi Sesame Grey here. But after putting on lots of makeup for fun, they didn't seem so big anymore.

Went to McDonald's for dinner since my friend and I had been craving it for a while now. Got my usual chicken nuggets meal. It was surprisingly warmer than usual so we got a Mcflurry. Anyway, I guess they had hired new people and service was kind of slow so to make up for it, the manager gave us two free apple pies! That's pretty nice service, if you ask me.

Then my friend and I went to Walmart to buy some face products. I got that Stain Gloss that I've been wanting to try for a while now. Also got some Splat hair dye to dye my hair jet black. I can see some of the red from the past showing through again. Then went to kroger for some groceries.

Went home to watch some Big Bang Theory then saw an episode of King of the Nerds. It happened to be the last episode too. I think one of my roomies needs to be on this show.

Sunday

Went to Baker's Crust for dinner since I had a groupon. They changed their menu quite a bit since the last time I went. Too bad they took out my favorite dessert from the dessert menu. Oh well.

Anyway, going to such a nice restaurant gave me an excuse to dress up and look nice. That will never happen again once school starts up. Starting tomorrow, it's all sweatpants and sweatshirts.

Last day of break. So sad :(

Hospital in the mall? Where do I go?

This was a Monday night dream. On Tuesdays, I have clinical for Women's. This week, I have Spring Break so I don't have clinical, which is weird for me. I guess my mind wasn't used to it.

I arrive at school with my scrubs ready to go to clinical. Except, I don't know where to go. The campus recently combined the medical campus with a large outdoor mall in the area. They have basically put it together so that the mall and hospitals are all attached and look like one whole building. I am new to all this because apparently this whole merge happened over the weekend. So I'm looking at the building and I have no idea where to go.

I go to one of the entrances and head down the hallway only to find myself among classrooms. Obviously, I've gone to the wrong place. I do recognize some people in one of the classrooms though. They are some of my classmates, but they don't have clinical today. I ask them where the entrance is and they say they have no idea.

Then, I realize that I'm wearing different scrubs. I'm supposed to be wearing dark green scrubs but instead I have the light blue scrubs from L&D. Well, I guess I forgot to put these scrubs back in the scrub machine. Darn, my clinical instructor is going to kill me. Plus, I'm not even on L&D today so I can't just wear it.

I run off to another building to see where the hospital will be. Instead, I just end up in the lobby of another part of the mall. I see some other students/peers and like me, they have no idea where to go either. We decide to team up and look together.

We end up outside and behind us is the back of some other hospital. However, that hospital is for the Psych clinical and we had done that already. But we should be close to where we should be. We climb these ladders and walk over some bridge made of cloth to some high up hill where there is a path. There are some instructors on the path and they tell us that the hospital is at the top of the hill. Well, at least now we know where to go...?

Pokemon Platinum Team

This is a totally random and pretty much unrelated to anything post but I'm pretty proud of my Pokemon team. I am an avid Pokemon game fan and whoever tells me I'm too old for playing these games is not my friend. Unlike when I was a little kid, I actually plan my teams now. So I'm pretty proud of the team I've created. This is the first one I actually made with some traded pokemon from my other versions because I had SoulSilver first then I got Platinum.

I think I had a pretty well rounded team. They all had pkrs at one point, but I didn't take advantage of it because I didn't know what that was at the time. Would have liked to do more in that game but unfortunately it crapped out on me and will sometimes freeze while I'm playing. I got tired of that so I don't play it anymore. Oh well. I would have liked to fully decorate my resort house.

Nursing Nightmare

Just some background to my real life. On Fridays, I only have one class: Pediatric Nursing. For the semester, I only have three classes total. 

In my dream, I had a fourth class called Veterinary Nursing. The class is right after my Friday class and the clinical was for Friday night. It wasn't in the Nursing School but some other building somewhere else. You can't drive to it, you can only walk to it because it is floating in the middle of nowhere. Its only connection to anything else is this dangerous narrow pedestrian bridge with no barriers on the sides (think Bridge of Eldin in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess).

So I'm in this building talking to the instructor. She is telling me that this class is important because humans are animals so studying animals is beneficial to our knowledge. So she showed me a poster of the inner organs and bones of a dog and a similar poster of an infant. She is like, "See, aren't they so similar?!?" I didn't really agree but I nodded anyway.

She continues to take me on the tour of the building, and she keeps asking me if I'm hungry. It was still early so I wasn't hungry yet. Finally, she releases me for lunch, giving me an hour to eat. An hour is a pretty long time and I'm still not yet hungry.

I walk over the scary bridge to the building with the cafeteria to meet with my family to eat lunch with them. I stay with them for 30 minutes then I decide to get something to eat. As I go to line up, suddenly a whole bunch of people line up in front of me. I'm having a hard time choosing what to get because I can't see the board.

I get up to the front and I decide to get a hamburger to play it safe. Interestingly enough, the cheeseburger looks the same as the hamburger. I saw some guy get this delicious sandwich. It has egg salad with some honey ham and white bread with some lettuce and tomatoes. It looked delicious and I immediately regretted my decision. I want that sandwich.

As I get my food and am about to it, it starts to rain and hail outside. News say that it is freezing rain and the ground is pretty much frozen over. I have to get back to the building in less than 30 minutes and cross over that dangerous and possibly frozen bridge and maybe slip off to my doom. I don't even know if I'll be able to make it in time. Yeah, life sucks.
