Springtime in the District

I had a bit of time in the morning to just walk around and explore D.C. My main goal was to see what was left of the Cherry Blossoms before they completely fell off. I was not able to see them in their peak because I was busy that weekend. Oh well, there is always next year. I went from the Smithsonian metro station and walked to the Tidal Basin, although I didn't walk very far around the Tidal Basin.

A few pictures of the Monument since you can see it pretty much from wherever you go. From the Tidal Basin, I walked then to the World War II memorial and down alongside the empty Reflection Pool past the Lincoln memorial to 23rd.

Then in the afternoon, I sat by the little park by H and 19th waiting for the bus to take me home. There were cameramen behind me. I didn't know that the IMF was having their annual spring meeting that weekend so it was pretty much chaos in the area. The city though has a lot of nice blooming trees and such. There are also a lot of pretty trees in Rosslyn. I'll try to include that next time.

Lorac Pro Matte Lip Color - Pink Taupe

I have had this product for a while now and let me tell you, the color is definitely a my-lips-but-better type of thing. I mean it looks so natural and the color applies so wonderfully and it goes great with my It Cosmetics "Blushing Nude" lip liner. I use this product all the time and it looks great even without the lip liner. This is definitely my favorite lip product right now and I cannot rave about it anymore than I already do. So far, the Lorac brand has not disappointed me.

It's not the most hydrating lip color but it's better than many matte lip products I've tried. It is apparently infused with anti-aging antioxidants like acai berry, pomegranate, grape seed extract, and vitamin C and E to protect and nourish lips. It definitely applies on matte and is nicely pigmented. It costs $16 at your local Ulta, which is where I got mine. Another color that is similar and really nice too is the Rose Brown, which is a bit darker if you have naturally darker lips.
