Hoenn's Number One Contest Idol

It seems I have just had all nerd posts recently. Anyway, after become pokemon league champion of Hoenn and otherwise destroying any other trainer in the region, I turned to pokemon contests. When I had the original Sapphire version, I was so obsessed with these contests. I remember I did have an Altaria that won the cool master rank and a Gardevoir that won the smart master rank and was put in the gallery in Mossdeep. I also had a Ninetales that won the beauty master rank. It was really hard winning contests and the talent round was brutal. In this remake, the contests are so much easier. There is no more limit on how many pokeblocks your pokemon can eat and winning the contests are much easier as well. I used to have to get the right nature that would like a certain pokeblock that would be beneficial to a certain trait. Pokeblock making is also simpler now and there are only two types rather than before where smoothness and all those other things mattered.

Anyway, my favorite pokemon is Ninetales so I decided to make my that my contest pokemon. I had a female lv 1 vulpix from a random wondertrade so I decided to use that one. It would be such a dream if I ever got a shiny vulpix or ninetales. I think that would be my most coveted pokemon. Anyway, the good thing in this remake is that natures don't matter since pokeblocks have no limit, which also makes it easy to max out all contest stats. Anyway, I will list the movesets I used to win each type of contest.

I will have to say the tough contests were really the toughest ones to win, mostly because there aren't really any good tough moves for ninetales. That was really a struggle and I had to experiment with different movesets. I beat Lisia in the beauty contest, which was definitely super hard and took a few tries. I wish they do a mega evolution for ninetales. That would be so awesome. Lisia's altaria's special move along with the mega evolution was really cool. She is definitely as fabulous as her uncle Wallace, whose outfit in this remake is definitely so much more fabulous than before. If you do pokemon contests, I would love to see what pokemon and movesets you use to get all the ribbons! Always happy to see what other people are doing.

Notebooks Galore

All my close friends know I have this weird obsession over ornate notebooks. Recently, I have gotten back into writing so every time I finish one notebook, I buy another one to write in. I try to have at most two empty notebooks in my possession. I learned the hard way after I used up my notebooks and had to find time to go to Barnes and Noble to buy more. Also, I've noticed I have a thing for map designs. I don't know why.

If you own any nice notebooks, please show me and tell me where to get them! So far, I have bought all my notebooks from Barnes and Noble. I'm really looking for other shops so I can have a variety to choose from. Also, if you can't tell, I have been going to the same coffee shop lately.

Pokemon Omega Ruby Team

As an avid pokemon fan, of course I had to get the Gen 3 remakes! I did have the original pokemon Sapphire game on my gameboy SP. Oh gosh, that was so long ago already. Anyway, I'm sad to say that my team in Sapphire was pretty pathetic. In my old team, my starter was Torchic, then the rest of my team consisted of Linoone, Mightyena, Pelipper, Swellow, and Altaria. With a sad team like that, no wonder I struggled. This remake is a chance for redemption!

My goal this time around was to have a party of all pokemon that can mega evolve. Although technically groudon primal evolves but it's kind of the same thing. I like how it does it automatically though so it doesn't count in the one mega evolution per battle limit. Anyway, kudos to you if you can guess the theme of all my pokemon's names. I've also got a Wailord named Jabu Jabu.

New Phone: Samsung Galaxy Note 4

I know I put on my wishlist that I wanted the new Nexus phone, but unfortunately it wasn't available for me as an upgrade due to some annoying circumstances. I settled with getting the Note 4 instead since I didn't want to wait much longer. I was sick of my current phone already. Although it wasn't my ideal, I still like it and it is still super huge. It was pretty much a Christmas present to myself, although I bought it on New Year's eve.

Anyway, I got this this cute case from etsy from a shop caled Lili Case Designers. The case was $20 and shipping was $2.50. The shipping and processing was actually very fast. I ordered the case Jan 3 and it was delivered to my house on Jan 9. It has three slots for cards and the case is very sturdy and secure. It does make the phone a bit bulky but I don't care. It's not like I'm trying to fit it into a pocket.

Finally having an upgraded phone is great. Also the screen is huge! I'm pretty much used to it now unlike before where the phone felt so big. It feels and looks normal sized to me now. Everyone else in my eyes has small phones. Also, having the stylus is really nice. The pen writes really well. It took a while to get used to since it doesn't have all the same widgets as my old phone so I had to look for new ones. It took a while for me organize everything to mimic what my old phone had. Anyway, I'm so glad I finally upgraded my phone.

GEO Cafe Mimi Waffle

I am a big fan of GEO lenses so I was really eager to get these lenses. In terms of lenses within the GEO brand, I do believe these are the closest to one of my favorite lenses, GEO Princess Mimi Sesame Grey. So that's why I have been very eager to try them. Not to mention, I trust the GEO brand and I have never had a problem with the many GEO brand lenses that I've tried.

Uniqso always has such cute packaging. I always plan my orders so that I can have free standard shipping. They arrive usually in 3-4 weeks and always come with a tracking number. The lens containers are safely insulated within the boxes. I am a loyal customer to Uniqso because they have great customer service and always respond quickly to my messages. GEO, in particular, has an anti-fake sticker on their lenses which has a code that you can check online to see if you have real GEO lenses.

Cafe Mimi is a branch of the larger GEO medical brand, which also includes the Princess Mimi branch. The Cafe Mimi Waffle has a base curve of 8.7 mm while the diameter is 15 mm, which I believe is the largest diameter of lenses that GEO offers. The water content is 38% while the replacement period is 12 months. These lenses are considered two tone. The lenses are available from plano to -6.00. The lenses cost $23.90 per pair, which is a bit more expensive than most lenses. The Mimi series lenses are usually more expensive than most lenses. The Cafe Mimi series has five other lenses including 3 colors of Cappuccino, Macchiato, and Latte. Sounds delicious, doesn't it?

Color&Design
The design is very pretty and I do love how it has the brown part in the middle. However, just like most other GEO lenses, it is very dark once you put them on and the design is not all that noticeable. The two pictures below show the lenses in direct sunlight and with a camera flash. As you can see, the brown design in the middle isn't really noticeable once you put them on. The lenses do appear on the eyes as very dark gray.

Enlargement
After having worn 14.5mm lenses for so long, I felt so dolly with these 15mm lenses. The thick limbal ring also helps with the dolly effect. These lenses are seriously enlarging and I love it. Definitely have to wear these with makeup though since I look like an alien otherwise.

Comfort
These are quite comfortable. I can wear them up to 8 hours with no problems.

Overall
Although the color isn't very opaque or bright, I just really love the enlargement of these lenses. It's been a long time since I looked this dolly. I can definitely get away with minimal makeup with these lenses however I cannot get away with no makeup. So a con for me would be these can't be everyday lenses. Still, I would definitely purchase these again and just keep them as special occassion lenses since I do feel super cute when I have them on.

Zoolights

This year was the first time I've ever gone to the Zoolights display at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. I mean, I've been to the National Zoo before but not for the Zoolights. Groupon and living social deals have a way of making my family go places. Anyway, the deal was for free parking since parking is expensive probably to offset the fact that the zoo itself is actually free. If you have ever gone to the National Zoo, you will know that getting there is quite a hassle. It's still a bit of a walk from the closest metro stop. Driving there is kind of terrifying if you take Rock Creek, which is like the winding road of death. Taking Connecticut is kind of annoying also since you end up going through Dupont Circle and the National Mall area. But it was whatever to me since I won't be the one driving.

Our deal included tickets for tubing, the train, and the carousel. Before any of the animal attractions closed, I took my brother to see the pandas and the reptile house. We didn't spend too long there. Then we went to go eat dinner at Ted's Bulletin in Mosaic District Mosaic District was also nicely decorated for Christmas.
