I got the couture in black. I just wanted a good straightener that has temperature controls with smaller plates and is strictly for dry hair. I didn't want to spend that much but I still wanted a good straightener that I can use on my hair. I originally wanted the petite straightener, but they didn't have it in stock and I wasn't willing to wait for it to go back in stock (I'm impatient). Also, the company is slow with email replies. They reply much faster on their facebook page.
I like this straightener a lot. I like how big the range for the temperature is, so I can straighten my extensions at lower temperatures to reduce the damage I do to them. It's not as small as I hoped but it is small enough. It works very well in straightening my hair when it's dry, which is quite a feat as it is. However, the temperature is adjusted by a dial instead of a digital adjuster so you kind of just have to guess or estimate what temperature you are on the dial. I don't know yet but I've been thinking of buying the petite. Having a straightener with less than 1 inch plates would be nice.
